Hi friends!
If you’ve been around a while, you may have noticed things got pretty quiet here for a few years. Life got in the way, as it does, and the blog took a back seat. But WeAreWordNerds has been online in one form or another since 2004, and I’m happy to say we’re back.
This isn’t just a dust-off, though. It’s a relaunch with a new focus.
What’s changing
I’m focusing on more of what I actually love: horror, paranormal, fantasy, and thrillers, plus a limited amount of nonfiction depending on the topic. That means I’m winding down the children’s and YA coverage here. My children are grown and out on their own paths – so I can finally focus on me!
All of those older reviews and bookshelf tours are still up, so feel free to wander through the archives.
What’s staying the same
Book of the Day. Every book sent to us still gets its own Book of the Day feature. A review isn’t guaranteed, but the feature is, and that’s how it has always worked here.

You can find us on Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Goodreads. I’m also exploring TikTok, and thinking about what a return to YouTube might look like. The old videos are still up in the meantime. I’ll share more as plans take shape.
